After the Walk, p.3

A Driving day! And in fog most of the day!
We drove east through Liechtenstein, and didn’t even know we went through it until we had our passports stamped at the Austrian border. We walked around Feldkirch, a border town, then drove further east on the Autobahn to Innsbruck. Foggy and dark! We had problems finding a place to stay, but then found a hotel on the west side of the river near Aldstadt (old city).

Clearer today. A nice walk through the old city in Innsbruck cheered us up, except nearly everything was closed (ski season not started yet). Soon, we could see mountains behind the city - beautiful!

Back to driving east, we saw the old city of Hall im Tirol, stayed on HWY 171, took a turnoff just before Rattenburg and went up to Alpbach at 1000 meters – a small alpine village.

We walked around Alpbach then took a room in the village at about 4:30, then went down to see the shopping area of Rattenburg. We bought several Christmas gifts at various places, and of course, had wienerschnitzels and strudel later in the small Gasthaus in Alpbach.
